Napa High school had its second annual visual arts show on Thursday, May 17th, letting the artistic people of Napa high let their work be seen and admired. Many different sections of the visual arts program participated in the art show, with Ceramics, Photography and Art all having their work on display.

Many different artists put their work on display for Napa High to see, and some artists even decided to sell some of their artwork. One of these people is painter  and Napa High junior Georgia Bertalotto:

“I feel like I should sell some of my work, because I don’t only make the artwork for me, I make it so that other people could enjoy it too. If I don’t sell it, then it’s like giving a person a taste of candy and then taking it from them. It would be unfair to people to put my work up and not sell it, I want people to be able to enjoy the art in their own homes.”

She said that when she first started painting in high school, “People always told me that I should sell my work, but I didn’t think it was good enough, but this is the year I decided to start selling my work.”

Photography student  and sophomore Tristan Brennan-Evans said that he “Wished [he] had chosen to put work into the show, but just felt like some of [his] work just was not as good as others and would be swamped and forgotten.”

“If I want my work to be seen, I have to do something that is better, something that is more, something that can be interesting, something that can make people think about the photo, and I just don’t feel like I’m at that point yet, though I feel like I’m close.”

The art show was very impressive, with any different styles of art and mediums to admire, with people using all kinds of different artistic tools, and I hope the artists enjoyed creating their artistic creations as much as the people who observed the work enjoyed seeing their fruits of labor.
